ECP
Engineering Change Proposal
What it actually means
The formal package proposing a change to a baselined configuration: what changes, why, and the impact on cost, schedule, interfaces, spares, training, and everything else the change touches. Class I ECPs (affecting form/fit/function or contract terms) need customer approval; Class II are minor. The impact analysis is the real work — the change itself is usually the easy part.
Where you'll meet it
Configuration control boards and contract modification negotiations.
