Integrated Logistics Support

What it actually means

The classic umbrella term for designing and providing everything a system needs to stay usable in the field: maintenance planning, spares, support equipment, technical data, training, packaging and transport, facilities, and support personnel. The core insight is that supportability is a design property — it must be engineered in, not procured afterward.

Where you'll meet it

Sustainment planning; DoD usage has largely migrated to "Integrated Product Support (IPS)".
