Quality Assurance
What it actually means
The system of planned activities providing confidence that products and processes meet requirements — process audits, inspection planning, nonconformance control, corrective action. Distinct from quality control (inspecting the product): QA is about making the process trustworthy so quality doesn't depend on catching every defect at the end.
